Now the institutionalization of the social integration of the migrant works is underway across the country. Beijing and Hong Kong have many similarities. In this article,new immigrants in Hong Kong and migrant workers in Beijing are compared in order to clarify some vague ideas about the social integration of migrant workers in Beijing by examining the experiences of the social integration of the new immigrants in Hong Kong. This article suggests that institutional flaws and cultural estrangement are the two major problems restricting the social integration of the migrant workers in Beijing and that we should solve the first problem by innovating the social management policies and the second by changing the existing patterns of social organization and social service.
