Population urbanization is a dynamic process of rural population shifting to urban population along with the economic development. In early and middle stages, the urbanization is motivated by industrialization, while in late stage, the large quantity of working population attracted by the boom of the tertiary industry serves as developing engine for urbanization. The paper clarifies the laws of Beijing's population urbanization through the quantified analysis on the relativity of population and economic growth. Beijing has a population the size of which has reached the standard of international metropolis, and is witnessing a fast development of the employment in and output value of the tertiary industry, as well as rapid urbanization and swift growth of per capita GDP. However there is still a big gap between Beijing and developed cities of other countries in terms of urbanization level.
